fox trapping Empty fox trapping

Hi new to trapping 2nd year it snow on the ground and last nite a fox come within two foot but didnt work my set it was a dirt set with caven gland lure and hiwatha predator bait,got any ideas thanks

Was it a dirt hole set or just a dirt set we use both out here in Montana
